My Sunbelt Story

Andy, Traffic Management Operative (TMO) - “My job is all about keeping people safe.”

“My role involves setting up traffic management schemes and dealing with ongoing traffic issues. I now work for Sunbelt Rentals Traffic Management but prior to this I worked for Sunbelt as both a Hire Controller and Foreman so I’ve got experience across the industry.

Freedom to travel

“I’ve worked as a TMO for around eight years in total and the freedom to travel is great. I’m not suited to being stuck in an office all day so this role is ideal for me. One day I could be working in Anglesey and the next day I could be working on a site in Oxford, depending on where the work takes me.

Interacting with the public

“On some traffic management sites I’ll be there for just a few hours, on other jobs I’ll be there for two or three days at a time. For major works I may need to stay on the same site for several weeks. I love the variety of the job and I enjoy interacting with people.

Safety is the top priority

“At the end of the day, my job is all about keeping people safe. Safety is Sunbelt’s top priority and it’s my job to help keep our clients, members of the public and myself safe.”
