Delivering our equipment may just be the ticket for your career

Our drivers are the public face of Sunbelt Rentals, not only delivering and collecting our equipment, but often installing on major infrastructure projects or at outdoor events around the UK.

What type of driving careers are available?

Drivers keep our equipment moving and the wheels in motion, so it’s always delivered to the customer when and where they need it. But it’s not just about driving, they’re often the first Sunbelt person the customer has met and may also demonstrate the product to the customer.

Our roles include HGV Class 1 and 2, 7.5 Tonne and Van Drivers, so if you’re a competent driver who enjoys interacting with customers with a friendly and professional approach, then we have just the job for you!

My Sunbelt Story

Lee, Driver - “I previously worked in the Armed Forces before becoming a Class 1 Driver for Sunbelt.”

“Before I joined Sunbelt, I worked in the Armed Forces as a HGV Driver and Plant Operator, so I could transfer many of the skills that I already had when I was appointed as a Class 1 Driver at Sunbelt’s Stockton depot.

Meeting company standards

“In my first week I completed the four-day Driver induction course at the Sunbelt Training Centre in Chesterfield to ensure that I was fully up to speed with company standards, and I also gained my IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) accreditation to allow me to safely transport Powered Access equipment.

Pride in the job

“As I’m a Class 1 Driver, I transport equipment up to 24.5 tonne in weight and that includes much of the bigger Powered Access kit such as 125ft booms. I take pride in my job and it’s crucial that we operate safely at all times.

It’s not a normal 9-5 job and every day is different. I’ve had the chance to travel all over the North East and North West delivering equipment to customer sites.

Perks of working for Sunbelt

“Working for a large company such as Sunbelt means that you get more perks and benefits such as discounted retail vouchers. Working as a Driver, you do get a good insight into other roles in the business, and long-term I’d like to go into management or become a Foreman.”
