About The Role

We now have an exciting opportunity for a National Engineering Manager to join the Sunbelt Rentals UK  team. 
 
You will be responsible for delivering company and customer defined engineering standards within the UK Hoists business. Responsible for the team of Hoists Design Engineers / ROMs / Training Manager, you will drive a continuous improvement program based around safety, people, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
 
Role:
• Ensure compliance with all regulations relating to Health and Safety/Quality including completion of statutory training.
• Overseeing / working with Regional Operations Managers (ROMs) to create collaborative sharing of resources across all engineering functions to ensure optimal use; meeting customer requirements and business demands as appropriate.
• Overseeing / working with the Hoists Design Engineering team to ensure all designs/drawings created are industry best to consistent to optimise business awarded in conjunction with the Customer pricing and expectations.
• Oversee and manage the Hoists Training Manager and Training requirements to ensure Sunbelt Hoists internal colleagues mandatory training is kept up to date.
• Oversee and manage Customer Training requests in-line with the Hoists Training Managers remit and qualifications.
• Be involved in and lead where appropriate any strategic or local projects relevant to role/product category.
• Work collaboratively across territories and functions to develop product category operational and technical excellence.
• Work closely with the two Depot based Service Delivery Managers / National Sales Manager / Office Manager / Accounts Manager/ Workshop and Transport Managers (when needed) to support the Engineering demands.
• Undertaking (when required) on-site and in Depot meetings with Customers and Sunbelt stakeholders to ensure all Engineering requirements and Customer expectations are met/exceeded.
• Hold regular / planned weekly / monthly meetings with your direct reports to measure and evaluate outputs, continuous improvement and team development

About You

To be considered for this role, we’re looking for someone who has the following experience:
 
• Exceptional leadership, team development and people management skills.
• Experience in customer service coordination roles.
• Strong data & analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyse and make recommendations/instruct appropriately.
• Proven operational management experience.
• Financial cost control and budgeting experience.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
• Ability to recognise opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementing them.
• Ability to source and analyse data and present results/recommendations.
• Experience of successfully working independently with limited day to day support.
• Driving licence essential.
• Good communication skills.
