About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Traffic Training Manager to come and join our team!

We’re looking for a driven individual to lead the delivery of a robust and compliant program of Traffic Training delivered across Sunbelt Rentals. This role is critical in ensuring our traffic teams are aligned with our purpose, fully engaged, and equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to provide an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the Traffic Training team, while supporting traffic trainers and assessors across the business.
  • Overseeing all accredited traffic training, including apprenticeships and new starter compliance.
  • Partnering with operational management to ensure training supports business needs and drives performance.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Line manage the Instructor/Assessor roles within the Traffic Training team ensuring resources are utilised effectively.
  • Provide coaching, support, and development opportunities to ensure team effectiveness and engagement.
  • Act as the key point of contact for traffic training-related queries across the business.
  • Manage the relationship with the External Training Team to ensure the seamless delivery of external traffic training.
  • Responsibility for delivery of budget for the traffic training team.
  • Lead the delivery of compliance training for new starters, with a heavy focus on Health & Safety and traffic related training to onboard them effectively into the role and business. 
  • Own and manage the Traffic Apprenticeship Programme (and other relevant apprenticeships as required), ensuring high-quality delivery and completion while maximising revenue from internal training delivery.

This is a hands-on role which requires working alongside trainers and depots so extensive travel and overnight stays will be required.

To succeed in the Traffic Training Manager role, you will bring the following skill set and behaviours:  

  • Traffic Management Experience: Significant experience in traffic management with practical hands-on experience on rural and urban roads, understanding both theoretical and practical aspects.
  • Training Delivery: Experience of training and assessing Signing Lighting and Guarding Units O1 and S1 and Lantra 12D as a minimum with experience of deliver 12C and or 12A/B desirable.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage and develop teams.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of traffic and technical training requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Attention to Detail: High standards for accuracy in compliance and reporting.
  • Content Development: Skilled in designing and creating high-quality training materials.
  • Quality Assurance: Strong focus on maintaining and improving training standards.

Required Certificates/Qualifications

  • AET3 – Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent
  • Assessor Qualification
  • 12D TTMBC, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7 Essential
  • 12C and or 12A/B Desirable
  • Approved Trainer and Assessor for Lantra and City and Guilds
  • Internal Quality Assurance
