We have an exciting role for a Major Project Manager to join as a lead role in a team that successfully delivers the Sunbelt Rentals Major Projects strategy. The role is to ensure that we capture all possible equipment rental requirements whilst minimising any hire or sales leakage to competitors. Key to the role will be building relationships with stakeholders from a variety of different businesses and sectors that are all responsible, at some point, for the delivery of designated Major construction projects. 

Key Responsibilities ; 

  • Managing the pipeline of Major Projects across a given territory, utilising appointed CRM system.
  • To manage any Business Development Managers assigned to the designated Major projects to ensure they are fulfilling their role.
  • Presenting and pitching the benefits of Sunbelt Rentals to the aforementioned to ensure we are selected for all their equipment rental requirements on site, ultimately positioning us, from an early stage, to be their principal partner.
  • Working with different internal teams to ensure the best possible solutions and opportunities.
  • Create development strategies that will focus on hire and sale of products to the designated Major project to maximise all revenues and expand our multi-brand offering.
  • Identify opportunities for product innovation, sustainability and safety advances aligning with Major project requirements.
  • Continuously develop the sales plan to drive maximum efficiency against revenue opportunity ultimately ensuring the team is built at the right time to drive opportunity successfully.
  • Keeping up to date with SBR product offering, competitor activity and general market conditions.
  • Positively and professionally represent Sunbelt Rentals and develop strong and successful relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • To carryout site surveys to determine customer requirements (or ensure the right business specialist can do so).
  • Compile and deliver reports in and around your business area. These are expected to be comprehensive and delivered in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a good understanding of hire contracts and terms
  • Any ad hoc duties required
  • Role will require traveling

To succeed in this role you will bring the following skill-set and behaviours:

  • Considerable sales experience of working closely with large customers.
  • Sales Management experience - able to manage and develop a team of sales colleagues.
  • Experience of developing effective customer relationships, generating real business growth and winning and developing new business.
  • A knowledge and understanding of project requirements and how to use them as a means to facilitate revenue.
  • Track record in delivering clear and measurable improvements in revenue.
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Great communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Customer-Focused with a commitment to delivering an excellent service.
  • Effective planning and organisation skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of personal drive and motivation for achieving stretching targets.
  • Numerical reasoning and analytical skills to review and draw appropriate conclusions from performance and KPIs.
