About The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Social Sustainability Manager to join our exciting and fast paced social sustainability team, to support the creation, delivery and reporting of social value.

The role leads the organisation and delivery of flagship programmes such as our schools engagement activity, helping young people build skills, awareness and confidence for the future. This includes leading the continued development and roll out of the Sunbelt Rentals Travel Safe programme, while supporting the delivery of other social sustainability programmes and initiatives across the business. The role requires strong project management capability, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, remain highly organised and track and measure progress effectively while staying focused on agreed objectives.

The role will include travel across the full South Region.

Key Duties include:

  • Support continual improvement initiatives within the Sustainability team to enhance the effectiveness of Social Sustainability projects.
  • Provide Social Sustainability support and guidance to Regional Directors, RSICs, Depots, Managers and team members, promoting collaboration and alignment.
  • Contribute to the overall Social Sustainability Strategy, ensuring alignment with Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland's objectives.
  • Accountable for ensuring the accurate capture, measurement and reporting of social sustainability activity across the business using recognised methodologies including the Social Value Portal framework and person centred approaches such as MeasureUp, working closely with the Social Sustainability Reporting Partner who supports the operational delivery of this work.
  • Lead the organisation and delivery of flagship programmes including schools engagement activity and the continued development and roll out of the Sunbelt Rentals Travel Safe programme, while supporting the delivery of other social sustainability initiatives across the business.
  • Support the wider business by helping deliver Social Sustainability awareness sessions, onboarding inputs for new starters and internal training to build understanding and engagement across the organisation.
  • Establish proactive relationships with key Community Partners and Customers to facilitate successful project implementation and community engagement.

  • Hold a full driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK as required.
  • Project management experience - adept at managing own workload and ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Able to work on your own initiative.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Comfortable in front of Senior Management teams, Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprises (VCSEs) and customers alike.
  • Flexible and able to quickly change priorities depending on business requirements.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving with a strong eye for detail.
  • Have a good understanding of Social Sustainability principles and practices, enabling informed decision making and effective implementation of initiatives.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, tracking progress and ensuring delivery against agreed objectives.
  • Comfortable working in environments where not everything is fully defined, able to manage ambiguity while remaining focused on priorities and outcomes.
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft products.
